Tartans Show Well Amongst Nationally Ranked at Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team completed action at the three-day, 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia, Sunday, March 15. The Tartans finished tied for 13th with a three-round total of 1,032 (346-354-332) on the par-72, 5,801-yard course.

Freshman Robin Tan (Austin, Texas/Westlake) had the low round of the day for the Tartans on Sunday, carding a career-best four-over-par 76. Freshman Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) closed competition with an 81 on Sunday, finishing with a three-day total of 242 and a 24th-place showing. Tan finished with a 54-hole total of 244 (84-84-76), placing 27th.

Freshman Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) turned in her best performance of the weekend with an 87 to total a 278 (94-97-87) for the three-day tournament. Following Tseng on Sunday was freshman Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) with an 88 and three-day tally of 268 (86-94-88).

Freshman Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) improved again Sunday, shooting a tournament-low 99, finishing with a three-round score of 306 (106-101-99).

Playing as an individual, freshman Diana Zhou (Diamond Bar, Calif.) tallied a 54-hole total of 329 (118-105-106).

The Tartans will next be on the course at Grove City Country Club for the Grove City Spring Invitational on Saturday, March 28.
