Women’s Golf Competes in Opening Round of UAA Championships
(PALM COAST, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team opened play at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships on Saturday, March 11 with the 36-hole, two-day event being held at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida. The Tartans carded a team score of 359 on Saturday playing on the par-72 Conservatory Course.
Washington University leads the field following the first day of competition after entering the clubhouse with a 339.
Junior Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) led the Tartans on day one with an 87. Freshman Yedin Lui (Idaho Falls, Idaho/Idaho Falls) is one-stroke behind Kitahara with an 88 while junior Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) carded a 90 through the first 18 holes.

Sophomore Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) and freshman Lavonca Davis (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington) recorded scores of 94 and 95, respectively, to finish out the team scoring for the Tartans Saturday.
Playing as individuals, junior Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) carded a 90, freshman Sanchi Gupta (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) a 94 and junior Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) a 104.
