Tartans Finish Fourth at BSC Classic

(BESSEMER, Ala.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team ended play at the Birmingham Southern College Classic on Tuesday and placed fourth in the 12-team field with a 594 (302-292). The 36-hole event was played at the Bent Brook Golf Course in Bessemer, Alabama, which is a par 72, 5,603-yard course.

Freshman Sriya Mupparaju (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte) led the Tartans after firing a one-under par 71 in the closing round. The freshman ended with a 36-hole score of 146 (75-71) and tied for fourth individually in a field of 65.

Senior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) followed her opening round of four-over par 76 with a round of one-over par 73 to record a 36-hole score of 149 while junior Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) finished a stroke back of Susanto with a 150 (74-76).

Freshman Kaylin Yeoh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) carded an even par 72 on Tuesday to improve seven strokes from her opening round and shot a 36-hole score of 151 (79-72). Sophomore Denise Pan (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) ended the event with a 153 (77-76).

Carnegie Mellon had an individual compete at the event, as freshman Reeya Vasishta (Mountain View, Calif./Mountain View) carded a 157 (78-79).
