Women’s Golf Receives Bid to NCAAs

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team has been selected to compete in the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships. This marks the Tartans third straight appearance and fourth in program history. This year's championships will be held May 9-12, in in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida at the Mission Inn Resort & Club. Oglethorpe University and Greater Orlando Sports Commission will be hosting the four-day event.

A total of 151 participants will compete at the 2023 championships. Twenty-four conferences have been awarded automatic qualification and the remaining five teams were selected on an at-large basis from conferences and the independent institutions. Six individuals, not from selected teams, also were selected for the championships.

The Tartans will be joined at the championships with University Athletic Association (UAA) counterparts Emory University, New York University and Washington University in St. Louis for the second straight season.

The Tartans currently rank fifth nationally in the latest Division III Golfstat rankings. Play begins on Tuesday, May 9 and following the third round, 54 holes of play on Thursday, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete the final day on Friday, May 12.
