Tartans Top Leaderboard Following Open Rond of Montgomery Country Club Women's Intercollegiate

(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed in the first round of the 36-hole Montgomery Country Club Women's Intercollegiate on Sunday. The Tartans carded a team score of 290 and are currently leading the intercollegiate.

How it Happened:
- In her first collegiate round, freshman Samantha Wang led the Cardinal and Gray with a round of two-under par 70. Wang is tied for fourth individually in a field of 75 golfers.
- Senior Alexis Sudjianto and junior Sriya Mupparaju boh entered the clubhouse on Sunday with rounds of even par 72.
- Freshman Nikita Jadhav, also playing in her first collegiate round, shot a 76 to open play.
- Junior Kaylin Yeoh ended play on Sunday with a 79.
Notes:
- The Tartans round of 290 (+2) ranks as the fourth best single-round in program history.
