Team Earns Academic Honor from NSCAA

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team earned the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for its performance in the classroom for the 2010-2011 academic year. The Tartans are one of 572 women's teams to achieve a GPA of 3.00 or higher.

In the classroom, the 24-woman roster achieved a 3.28 average GPA for the year. Elsa Wu (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-Region Second Team for achieving greater than a 3.30 in the classroom and playing in more than 50% of the team's games.

As this season's senior captain, Wu finished her career as a four-time All-University Athletic Association honoree (two first-team selections) and a two-time NSCAA All-Region selection.
