Tartans Excited for Second Chance At NCAA Championship

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship for the second time in school history on Monday, November 11 when the field of 64 was announced. The Tartans who were ranked nationally all season finished with a regular-season record of 9-4-2.

The 23rd-ranked Tartans will travel to Johns Hopkins University to play York College (12-4-3), the winner of the Capital Athletic Conference, on Saturday at a time to be determined Tuesday. No. 6 Johns Hopkins (18-1-1), won the Centennial Conference for the ninth time and will face Brooklyn College (15-3-0), who won the City University of New York Athletic Conference for the first time in the program's second-year existance.

The winners will then face on Sunday, November 17.

Last year, the Tartans advanced to the Elite 8 where they just missed the final four after a 13-round penalty shootout against Emory University.
