Iatarola Honored on CoSIDA Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior women's soccer player Tori Iatarola (West Dundee, Ill./Loyola Academy) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District women's soccer team. The district team is voted on by sports information directors in the state of Pennsylvania.

Carnegie Mellon is part of District 4 which is comprised of all Division III schools in the state of Pennsylvania. Iatarola now moves on to the national ballot for Academic All-America recognition.

As a sophomore, Iatarola was named an All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and D3Soccer.com. She is a two-time NSCAA All-Region honoree and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Star. Iatarola also garnered honors from the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches as a first team member twice and was named UAA Rookie of the Year. This year she is third on the team in points with 10, as she has scored three goals and assisted on four from her midfield position.

Iatarola is a psychology major with a minor in linguistics and holds a 3.57 GPA. She has interned with The Lab School of Washington where she was a group leader of 12 six-year-olds with learning disabilities. She is currently a teacher's assistant at Carnegie Mellon's Children's School and is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Iatarola is also a proponent of volunteering and does so for various food drives, CMU's 1000Plus Day of Service, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Feed My Starving Children.

The Tartans, ranked 18th in the nation, have three games remaining on their regular season schedule and return to action on Friday, October 28 when they host No. 11 Washington University at 5 p.m.
