Tartans Selected to Play in NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team received an at-large bid to the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship after finishing second in the University Athletic Association. The appearance in the NCAA tournament marks the fifth straight for the program who finished the regular season with an 11-5-1 overall mark.

The 24th-ranked Tartans will travel to Wittenberg University for a first round match on Saturday, November 12 and face Penn State Berks (17-3-1), winners of the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Wittenberg (13-4-2), who finished second in the North Coast Athletic Conference, will play Nazareth College (14-3-2), who placed second in the Empire 8.

Game times will be determined by Tuesday. The winners of each game will play on Sunday in a second round match.
