Five Players Honored on Women’s Soccer All-UAA Team

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Five Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer players have garnered honors from the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches on Monday, November 14 when the league announced its 2016 UAA Women's Soccer All-Association Team. Headlining the list is junior Haili Adams (Kirkland, Wash./Juanita) with a first team selection.

Juniors Tori Iatarola (West Dundee, Ill./Loyola Academy) and Sienna Stritter (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo School) earned second team recognition while sophomore Emily Tolmer (Bridgeville, Pa./Chartiers Valley) and freshman Camille Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/The Seven Hills School) picked up honorable mention honors.

Adams earns her second All-UAA award and first selection to the first team. She led the team with eight goals scored and three assists for the season. Five of her goals were game winners. Adams also led the team in goals scored in UAA play with three, collecting game winners against New York University, University of Rochester and the University of Chicago.

Iatarola is on the All-UAA team for the third year, as she was a first team honoree the previous two seasons. As a midfielder, she scored three goals for the Tartans and assisted on four others. Stritter is being recognized by the Association's coaches for the first time and also scored three goals this year. Two of her goals came in league play in wins against Emory University and Case Western Reserve University.

Tolmer and Williams are both defenders for the Tartans with Tolmer playing a center back position and Williams a little bit of center back and outside back to go with some appearances in the midfield. Tolmer recorded two goals scored for the year with the game winner against Emory. Williams also recorded a game-winning goal when the Tartans defeated Baldwin Wallace 2-0 on the road.

The Tartans completed their season in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight year, falling in the first round for the second time.
