Adams, Iatarola Named All-America by United Soccer Coaches

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer seniors Haili Adams (Kirkland, Wash. / Juanita) and Tori Iatarola (West Dundee, Ill. / Loyola Academy) closed their careers with All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches on Friday, December 1. Adams earned placement on the first team while Iatarola was named to the third team.

The honor for the Tartan seniors marks the first time in program history more than one player received All-America recognition in the same season by the coaches association. Adams and Iatarola become the fifth and sixth All-America honorees for Carnegie Mellon while Iatarola is the only two-time award winner in program history.

Adams earns her first All-America award after leading the Tartans in goals scored with 12 and points with 27. The senior finished the year with seven game-winning goals and scored both game winners in the NCAA tournament, as the Tartans won both their first round and second round games by 1-0 scores. With her 12 goals, she owns the senior class goal scoring mark, surpassing Savina Reid's 11 goals scored in 2014.

Iatarola, who was named to the All-America Second Team in 2015 and the D3soccer.com Third Team that same year, scored two goals from her midfield position this season while assisting on four goals.

The Tartans earned their sixth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the sectional semifinal for the fourth time. The pair helped the Tartans achieve a 59-13-5 record in four years, win the only two University Athletic Association championships in program history, and finished in the top 16 of the NCAA tournament three different times.

"I'm really proud of these two," said head coach Yon Struble. "Tori, the growth she's made in every way is outstanding and Haili, her fierce competitiveness is fantastic. I couldn't be happier for them."
