#10 Tartans Tripped Up on Road, Fall 1-0 at NYU

(NEW YORK, N.Y.) – The 10th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team opened the University Athletic Association (UAA) season at New York University on Saturday, September 29. Despite out shooting the Violets, the Tartans fell 1-0 and are now 6-2-1 for the season while NYU moved to 5-4.

The lone shot on goal for the Tartans was off the foot of senior forward Kaily Bruch (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South). Her shot was saved by NYU's keeper, Meghan Marhan in the 60th minute.

NYU scored the game's only goal in the 55th minute when Ashlyn Krygowski controlled an unsettled ball in the box and put it away for the score.

The Tartans will return home to play a non-conference match against Penn State Behrend on Tuesday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m.
