Spencer Honored as UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Junior Helena Spencer (Warrenton, Va. / Patriot) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week following her performance as the Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team won their first and second round games of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship Tournament.

Spencer scored the game-winning goal in double overtime for the Tartans in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Trine on Saturday, November 13 and then assisted on the second goal of the game for the Tartans in a 2-0 win against #7 McDaniel College on Sunday to help advance Carnegie Mellon to the sectional round of the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in eight appearances.

The Tartans will next play #8 MIT on its home field in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Saturday, November 20 at 1:30 p.m.
