Women's Swimming Honored for Academics by CSCAA

The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as seven individuals were also named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans.
Hochstedler Awarded Academic All-America Honors by CoSIDA

Carnegie Mellon University junior women’s swimmer Kim Hochstedler (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as a 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-American on the Women’s At-Large Team. The team honors athletes from ten different sports with Hochstedler being one of 19 swimmers to earn the award. Her placement on the third team is the first of her career and first for a Tartan swimmer since 2013.

Hochstedler One of Four to Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Honors

Four Carnegie Mellon University athletes were recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams. Senior men’s golfer George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) earns the award for the third time while senior men’s tennis player Kenny Zheng (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central), senior women’s tennis player Nicholle Torres (Weston, Fla./Great Neck South) and junior women’s swimmer Kim Hochstedler (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) receive the honor for the first time.
Tartans Finish 23rd at NCAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team finished 23rd at the 2017 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships which concluded Saturday, March 18. Three Tartans earned All-America awards during the four-day meet.

Kaku Earns Third Straight Trip to NCAA Championships

For the third straight year, senior Machika Kaku (Irvine, Calif./University) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team earned her way to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships with her finishes at the 2017 NCAA Region 4 Diving Championships, hosted by Ithaca College at the Ithaca Athletics & Event Center on Friday and Saturday, February 24-25.

Carnegie Mellon University junior Kim Hochstedler (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women’s Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday, February 21. Hochstedler’s awards are the first of her career and come after her performance at the Kenyon College Fast Chance Meet on Saturday, February 18.
