(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The eighth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team hosted New York University for the first University Athletic Association (UAA) contest of the season, falling 2-0 to the Violets after putting seven shots on goal. The Tartans are now 8-1-1 for the year, as the Violets improve to 4-3-1.

- The Violets opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a goal by Arkan Tahsildaroglu with a right-footed blast to the far post side netting.
