Freshman Samantha Wang of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week following her play at the Montgomery Country Club Women's Intercollegiate. Wang claimed individual medalist honors at the 36-hole event on the par-72, 5,640-yard Montgomery Country Club course.

15 Tartans Earn UAA Presidents Council Scholar-Athlete Recognition

Carnegie Mellon University had 15 student-athletes named to the 14th annual University Athletic Association (UAA) Presidents Council Scholar-Athlete Team, as announced by the league’s office on Tuesday, September 12. The 15 Tartans, six from men’s track and field men’s cross country, two from women’s track and field, and one each from women’s basketball, women’s golf, women’s soccer, softball, women’s swimming and diving, women’s tennis, and volleyball, received the prestigious honor along with 117 other student-athletes representing all eight UAA member institutions.

For the fourth straight season, five members of the 2022-23 Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team have been named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, as announced by the organization. Senior Alexis Sudjianto, junior Denise Pan along with sophomores Sriya Mupparaju, Sense Sangkagoon and Kaylin Yeoh all were recognized. It also marks the sixth straight year four or more have been recognized.

Sophomore Kaylin Yeoh of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s golf team was named to the 2023 Academic All-America Women's At-Large Team selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Yeoh found a spot on the third team and is one of four sophomores to be named for Division III out of 45 student athletes honored among the three teams.

Fifteen Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were named to a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III, nominated by members of CSC, for the golf and cross country and track and field seasons. College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) rebranded to CSC in the summer of 2022.

Multiple members of the Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team earned All-America honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) for the fourth consecutive season, with another earning regional recognition along with head coach Dan Rodgers who was named the Division III Golf Pride Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year. It is also the fourth straight honor for Rodgers.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team had four athletes honored by the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) coaches on the All-UAA team when the awards were announced. Sophomore Kaylin Yeoh headlined the squad for the Tartans as a first-team selection. Joining Yeoh on the team is senior Alexis Sudjianto and sophomores Sriya Mupparaju and Sense Sangkagoon as second-team honorees. This marks the fourth straight season Sudjianto has been honored by the league coaches with Yeoh and Mupparaju being recognized for the second straight season.

The Tartans shot a team score of 320 on Wednesday and have a 36-hole score of 639 (319-320). Shortly following the Tartans completion of round two, play was suspended due to darkness.
