Women’s Track Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2017 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on each list for the 11th consecutive year. A total of 183 women’s teams and 111 men’s teams earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better.
Joyce Receives Fulbright Award to Continue Studies Abroad

Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country and track and field athlete Emily Joyce has her post-graduation plans set thanks to a Fulbright award she earned from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Three Track & Field Athletes Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Carnegie Mellon University had three track and field athletes named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for men's and women’s cross country and track and field on Thursday, May 25. On the women’s side, senior Grace Yee (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding) and junior Sarah Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton) were honored, along with senior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) garnering accolades on the men’s side. Yee and Cook receive the award for the first time while this marks Norley’s second honor after receiving it following his junior season.
Yee Ends Collegiate Career at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Senior Grace Yee (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s outdoor track and field team concluded her collegiate career at the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday, May 25. The championships are being hosted in Geneva, Ohio, at SPIRE Institute.
Outdoor Track and Field Garners 15 USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field teams had 15 athletes honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with All-Region accolades for the 2017 outdoor track and field season. Ten represent the men while five represent the women with three receiving multiple honors.
Yee to Close Career at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Carnegie Mellon University senior women’s track and field athlete Grace Yee (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding) will complete her track and field career at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This year’s meet will be hosted in Geneva, Ohio, at SPIRE Institute from Thursday, May 25 through Saturday, May 27.
School Record and Personal Bests Achieved at Allegheny Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team traveled north to Allegheny College for the 12th Annual Gator Invitational on Friday, May 12. Senior Grace Yee (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding) set another school record in the pole vault while four other personal-best marks were achieved.
Aldrich Named to the USA Coaching Staff for 2017 IAAF World Outdoor Championships

Gary Aldrich, head coach of the Carnegie Mellon University track and field teams, has been named to the U.S.A. coaching staff as the Assistant Throws Coach for the 2017 IAAF World Outdoor Championships this summer. The event will take place in London, England, from August 3-14. This marks Aldrich's fifth coaching stint on the international stage.

Yee, Chuc Set School Records at Walsh Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at both the Walsh University Invitational and the Bucknell University Invitational on Saturday, April 15. Senior Grace Yee (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding) topped her own school record in the pole vault while junior Kiersten Chuc (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) broke a 10-year-old mark in the hammer throw, as six other career-best marks were achieved by teammates.
Tartan Women Win Third Meet of Outdoor Season

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team won its third meet of the outdoor season and fifth combined when it topped a field of 16 teams at the Westminster College Invitational on Saturday, April 8. The Tartans tallied 178.50 points to lead the pack with Westminster finishing second with 101.50 points.
Women's Track and Field Wins Home Quad Meet

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team hosted its annual CMU Quad Meet on Saturday, April 1 and placed first with 219 points. Penn State Behrend finished second with 157 points followed by Westminster and Saint Vincent.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team hosted its annual Mini Invitational on Saturday, March 25. The Tartans won the event after scoring 292 points with Waynesburg University taking second with 95 points.
Cook Garners UAA Honor

Junior Sarah Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s outdoor track and field team received two weekly honors following her performance at the Washington and Lee University Track & Field Carnival on Friday and Saturday, March 24-25. She was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for running events as well as Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Corvias South Track Athlete of the Week.
