After finding a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for men's and women’s cross country and track and field less than a month ago, three Carnegie Mellon University senior athletes were selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Third Team for the 2014-15 season; George Degen (Madison, Wis./West) and Thomas Vandenberg (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) on the men’s side are joined by Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) on the women’s team.

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – A pair of veteran coaches were appointed to lead the Carnegie Mellon University cross country and track and field programs, as Associate Head Track and Field Coach Gary Aldrich has been promoted to head coach and longtime Notre Dame coach Tim Connelly has been named Head Cross Country and Associate Head Track and Field Coach. Aldrich and Connelly take over following the announcement of Dario Donatelli’s (TPR’81) retirement prior to the start of indoor track and field season

Junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) led the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team to seventh place at the Mideast Regional Championship on Saturday, November 15 at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pennsylvania. The Tartans finished the 52-team race with 217 points while Johns Hopkins University won the race with 28 points and Dickinson College was second with 99 points.

Carnegie Mellon University junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) won the 4k race at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational on Saturday, September 20. The Tartans finished fourth in the 6k race out of 40 teams while Snyder paced the Tartans to a ninth-place team finish in the 4k race, as Division I Bucknell won both races.
