Carnegie Mellon Lands Three Cross Country and Track & Field Athletes on Capital One Academic All-America Squad

After finding a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for men's and women’s cross country and track and field less than a month ago, three Carnegie Mellon University senior athletes were selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Third Team for the 2014-15 season; George Degen (Madison, Wis./West) and Thomas Vandenberg (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) on the men’s side are joined by Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) on the women’s team.
Two Carnegie Mellon University Student-Athletes Receive Fulbright U.S. Grants

Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country and track and field seniors Sara Kelly (Madison, Wis./West) and Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif.) have been awarded prestigious Fulbright U.S. Grants. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides an unparalleled opportunity to teach, study and conduct research in 155 countries worldwide.
Carnegie Mellon University Names Gary Aldrich Head Track & Field Coach and Tim Connelly Head Cross Country Coach

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – A pair of veteran coaches were appointed to lead the Carnegie Mellon University cross country and track and field programs, as Associate Head Track and Field Coach Gary Aldrich has been promoted to head coach and longtime Notre Dame coach Tim Connelly has been named Head Cross Country and Associate Head Track and Field Coach. Aldrich and Connelly take over following the announcement of Dario Donatelli’s (TPR’81) retirement prior to the start of indoor track and field season

Snyder Leads Team to Seventh Place at Mideast Regional

Junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) led the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team to seventh place at the Mideast Regional Championship on Saturday, November 15 at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pennsylvania. The Tartans finished the 52-team race with 217 points while Johns Hopkins University won the race with 28 points and Dickinson College was second with 99 points.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team placed fifth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 1 at Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri. Junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) and senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) both earned All-UAA Second Team at the race.
Carnegie Mellon University’s Dario Donatelli Announces His Retirement

Carnegie Mellon University head cross country and track and field coach Dario Donatelli (TPR’81) has announced his retirement after 28 years at the university. Donatelli will complete the 2014 cross country season and retire prior to the start of indoor track and field season.
Tartans Take Eighth at Inter-Regional Rumble

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team raced at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble Saturday morning, finishing eighth in a field of 40. Junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) was the top Tartan finisher as she finished 17th overall.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team raced to a fourth-place finish at the annual Carnegie Mellon Invitiational and was led by junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) who placed second individually in a field of 193 women.
Snyder Wins 4K at Dickinson

Carnegie Mellon University junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) won the 4k race at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational on Saturday, September 20. The Tartans finished fourth in the 6k race out of 40 teams while Snyder paced the Tartans to a ninth-place team finish in the 4k race, as Division I Bucknell won both races.
