*Family swim is designated in the diving well, shallow lanes. Parents must be in the water with non-proficient swimmers. Lifeguards have the authority to enforce all pool rules and regulations.
Overview
The pool is located in the Jared L. Cohon University Center and welcomes all users with a valid Carnegie Mellon ID. The aquatics facility includes one eight lane- 25 yard deep water pool and a separate diving well. The pool offers a variety of programs including: varsity athletic swimming & diving teams, recreational & lap swimming, clubs and intramurals, and physical education classes. For recreational users, the lap pool is available for lap swim only; while the dive pool is used for deep water exercises and lap swimming. Diving boards and starting blocks are off limits to recreational users.

Students, faculty and staff are welcome to bring their children 21 and under (per the university's policy on dependents and sponosred IDs) to the pool. All children must be accompanied by the CMU ID holder. All children who are not proficient swimmers must have a parent or guardian in the pool with them. Family swim time is designated in the shallow part of the diving well. Please use locker rooms for changing clothing and diapers. No changing on the deck. No food allowed on the pool deck and no glass bottles/cups.
