Aldrich Set to Lead USA Throwers at 2015 Pan Am Games

The 2015 Pan American Games started July 10 and ten days later it’s time for the track and field participants and coaches to depart for Toronto to prepare for their events which begin July 20. Carnegie Mellon University Head Track and Field Coach Gary Aldrich will represent the United States Track and Field team as the assistant throws coach at the games.
Tartans Rack Up USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the men's 2015 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the list. A total of 170 institutions earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 or better.
Carnegie Mellon Lands Three Cross Country and Track & Field Athletes on Capital One Academic All-America Squad

After finding a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for men's and women’s cross country and track and field less than a month ago, three Carnegie Mellon University senior athletes were selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Third Team for the 2014-15 season; George Degen (Madison, Wis./West) and Thomas Vandenberg (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) on the men’s side are joined by Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) on the women’s team.
Three Cross Country and Track & Field Athletes Named Capital One Academic All-District

Carnegie Mellon University had three senior athletes named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for men's and women’s cross country and track and field for the 2014-15 season; George Degen (Madison, Wis./West) and Thomas Vandenberg (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) on the men’s side are joined by Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) on the women’s team. CoSIDA recognizes outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments by honoring deserving athletes with All-Academic recognition with the official sponsor of Capital One.
Kiekhaefer Ends Collegiate Career at NCAA Championships

Senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed in the finals of the 1,500-meter run at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Division III Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon. The championships were held at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.

Aldrich Named to the USA Coaching Staff for Pan American Games

Head Coach Gary Aldrich of the Carnegie Mellon University track and field teams has been named Assistant Throws Coach for the 2015 Pan American Games this summer. The track and field portion of the Pan American Games takes place July 20-26, in Toronto, Canada, at CIBC Pan/Parapan Am Athletics Stadium at York University.

Yee Sets School Record in Pole Vault

Sophomore Grace Yee (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding) set the school record in the pole vault to lead the Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University on Saturday, April 18. Fourteen teams from all three divisions competed at the event.
