Joyce Receives Fulbright Award to Continue Studies Abroad

Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country and track and field athlete Emily Joyce has her post-graduation plans set thanks to a Fulbright award she earned from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
SportsPITTSBURGH and Carnegie Mellon University to Host NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships in 2020

The NCAA has just announced that the city of Pittsburgh will host 11 NCAA Championships from 2018 to 2022. Along with SportsPITTSBURGH, Carnegie Mellon University will serve as the host for the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Regional in 2019 and the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships in 2020. In total, Pittsburgh was awarded 22 preliminary and finals rounds of NCAA championship events in Tuesday's announcements, the most of any city in the country.
Alavilli Places 108th at NCAA Championships

Junior Aparna Alavilli (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team competed in the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships hosted at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, November, 19. She was the third individual to compete on the national stage for the Tartans in past four years.
Alavilli Earns Selection to 2016 NCAA Championships

Junior Aparna Alavilli (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team earned qualification to the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships to be held at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, November 19. Alavilli becomes the eighth Tartan to qualify for the NCAA Championships as an individual.
Tartans Compete at Mideast Regional

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team finished 10th at the NCAA Mideast Regional on Saturday, November 12, at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa. John Hopkins claimed the title with 38 points followed by Dickinson with 120 points and Elizabethtown with 126.
Alavilli Leads Tartans at UAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team finished seventh at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 29 at McIntosh Reserve Park in Atlanta, Georgia. The Tartans accumulated 199 points at the 6k race hosted by Emory University.
Tartans Compete at Inter-Regional Rumble

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team finished the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College in 14th-place out of 29 teams on Saturday, October 15. Leading the team for the fifth race this season was junior Aparna Alavilli (Hanover, N.H./Hanover).

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team hosted the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday, October 8 in Schenley Park. The Tartans finished fourth out of 10 teams with Division I University of Pittsburgh winning the 5k race.

Tartans Start Season at Duquesne Duals

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team started the 2016 season at the Duquesne Duals in Schenley Park on Saturday, September 3. With the dual scoring, Carnegie Mellon defeated Cleveland State University and Youngstown State University.
