Facilities at Carnegie Mellon
Carnegie Mellon University boasts top class facilities for use by varsity programs, club and intramural programs, and recreational users.
Gesling Stadium, Soccer Field, and Tennis Courts Recreational Use Policy
The following rules and regulations apply to all users of the football field, track and field (including throwing area), soccer field, tennis courts, bleachers/stands and any equipment at or near Gesling Stadium, the Soccer Field or the Tennis Courts (collectively, the Facility). These policies do not apply to student-athletes or team staff participating in intercollegiate athletic events.
- All users of the Facility must have a valid Carnegie Mellon University ID Card or be accompanied by an individual with a valid ID Card. All other users must register in advance here: Registration Form
- All users of the Facility under the age of 18 who do not have a valid CMU ID card must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
- The Facility is intended primarily for the use of Carnegie Mellon University varsity athletic teams, as well as intramural and club sports activities. The CMU Athletics Department reserves the right to immediately remove any user of the Facility who has not officially reserved time to use the Facility through the CMU Athletics Department.
- Guest Assumption of Risk: Participation in sports and recreational activities involves inherent risks of injury, including but not limited to, bodily injury, property damage, and death. By entering Facility and/or engaging in activities at the Facility, all users of the Facility who do not have a valid CMU ID card - regardless of whether the user properly registered use of the Facility - voluntarily assume all risks associated with such activities, including but not limited to, risks associated with the playing surface, equipment, falls, collisions, injury and/or the actions of other participants or individuals on the athletic fields. Carnegie Mellon University is not responsible for any injuries or damages resulting from the use of or presence on or at the Facility.
- Report Maintenance Issues: Please immediately report any maintenance concerns to Facilities Management Services at 412-268-2910.
- Non-CMU organized team practices are strictly prohibited, unless the Facility is rented/reserved via Carnegie Mellon University Conference and Events Services.
- No pets are permitted. However, service animals are permitted so long as the animal is properly controlled and does not damage the field/court surface or equipment.
- No rollerblades, roller skates, bicycles or similar wheeled recreational vehicles.
- No alcoholic beverages or smoking.
