Karabin and Lindsey Named CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-America

Juniors Michelle Karabin (Ruffs Dale, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) and Emmalyn Lindsey (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team have been honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as Google Cloud Women's Cross Country/Track and Field Academic All-America selections. Karabin, a first time representative, landed a spot on the first team with Lindsey honored as a second team selection after garnering third team accolades a year ago.

Juniors Michelle Karabin (Ruffs Dale, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) and Emmalyn Lindsey (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team have been honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as Google Cloud Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field Academic All-District selections. Karabin receives her first award while Lindsey is a repeat selection and also a 2018 third-team CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-America selection.
Three Tartans Earn All-Academic Honor from USTFCCCA

Three members of the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team were named to the All-Academic team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition, the Tartans earned all-academic team accolades sporting a 3.40 cumulative average.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team finished 31st at the 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 17 in Winneconne, Wisconsin, at the Lake Breeze Golf Club.
Bid Received! Tartans Return to NCAA Championship Race

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team received an at-large invitation to the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships marking the second straight season the Tartans will race as a team for the championship. This year's race will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 17. The team appearance marks the fifth in program history.
Tartans Place Third at Mideast Regional; Three Advance to NCAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country team ran to a third-place finish at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships hosted by DeSales University this Saturday. Following two top-ten nationally ranked teams, Johns Hopkins University and Dickinson College, the women finished more than 100 points ahead of fourth place, Haverford College.
Meyyappan Leads Tartans at UAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country team placed sixth overall at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships hosted by the University of Chicago held at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The 25th-ranked women competed against a field of seven nationally ranked teams.
Tartans Race to Seventh Place at Rowan Inter-Regional

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country team ran to a seventh-place finish at the Rowan University Inter-Regional Invitational on Saturday in Glassboro, New Jersey. With 228 points the women finished just six points behind sixth place finisher Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and eight points behind fifth place finisher St. Lawrence University.
Meyyappan Earns UAA Athlete of the Week Honors

Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country sophomore Parvathi Mayyappan (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Carnegie Mellon Hampton Inn Pittsburgh – University/Medical Center Invitational on Saturday, October 6. The honor is the first for Meyyappan this season and the first for the Tartan women’s cross country team.
Women Finish Third at Annual Home Hampton Inn Pittsburgh – University/Medical Center Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross-country team placed third at its home Hampton Inn Pittsburgh – University/Medical Center Invitational in Shenley Park this Saturday. The weather was unseasonably warm as the women ran to a third-place finish on the 5k course behind California University of Pennsylvania and Point Park University.
Levine and Meyyappan Lead Tartans at Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational

In a field of Division I, II and III runners, the Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross-country team placed 13th in a field of 43 teams in the brown race at the Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational. This week marked the Tartan’s first competitive meet of the season against nationally ranked teams across all divisions.
#22 Tartans Crowned Champions of Allegheny Classic

The 22nd-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country team repeated as champions of the Allegheny College Classic on Saturday morning. The women defeated a field of competitive teams including Case Western Reserve University, Allegheny College, and Waynesburg University.
Women’s Cross Country Starts Season at Duquesne Duals

The Carnegie Mellon women’s cross country team kicked off the season with a strong performance at the 2018 Duquesne Duals Invitational at Shenley Park on Saturday morning. The women finished third overall on the 5k course fielding a finish of six runners within the top 30.
