Soccer Shapes CMU Experience for William Rabon

Men's soccer captain William Rabon brought his A-game to the task. Rabon, accustomed to hearing commentators describe his own actions on the pitch, blended his love of the sport with his passion for science.

Tartans Impress Once Again in Classroom During Fall Semester

The fall athletics season was highlighted by four team NCAA appearances, three University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships, and a football bowl victory, but the Tartans also continued their dominance in the classroom. Academically, 137 student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.0 grade-point average (GPA) with nearly 65 percent earning a 3.50 GPA or better.

Department Honors Top Academic Athletes at Annual Celebration

In its 10th year celebrating academic and athletic achievement, the Carnegie Mellon Department of Athletics welcomed faculty and staff to the annual Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Celebration to honor 35 of the highest-achieving juniors and seniors across all colleges and athletics teams on Wednesday. The celebration is always held on Reading Day during finals week.

12 Tartan Soccer Players Earn Academic All-District Honors from College Sports Communicators

After celebrating the graduating class of nine, the Tartans fell to the Spartans by a 2-0 score. The Tartans finish the year with a 7-6-4 overall record and a 0-4-3 University Athletic Association (UAA) mark.

Nearly 75 minutes passed before the first goal and WashU went on for the 3-0 victory. The Tartans are now 7-4-3 overall and 0-2-2 in the UAA while the Bears are 5-6-1 and 1-3.

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, for a University Athletic Association (UAA) contest against No. 3-ranked Emory University on Saturday, October 14. The Eagles overcame a one-goal deficit to top the visiting Tartans by a 2-1 score. The Tartans are now 7-3-3 overall and 0-1-2 in the UAA. The Eagles move to 9-1-3 and 3-0-0.
