ITA Honors Men’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; Five Named Scholar Athletes

The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team was honored for the 10th straight season and 17th time in the last 18 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, five players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
Men’s Recruiting Class Named No. 1 by Tennis Recruiting Network

Following his second year as the head men’s tennis coach of Carnegie Mellon University, Mike Belmonte has earned the program its first number one ranking. Belmonte’s 2019 recruiting class has earned the top Division III spot by Tennis Recruiting Network and sits among the top 25 of all mid major universities.
Downing and Levine Close Careers at NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

Carnegie Mellon University seniors Chaz Downing (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar) and Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill. / Boca Prep International School) closed their careers at the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships on Friday in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Rain forced play inside where both Tartan men bowed out in the first round.
Tartan Men Honored with ITA Regional Community Service Award

Downing and Levine Honored on 2019 All-UAA Men’s Tennis Team

Seniors Chaz Downing (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar) and Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill. / Boca Prep International School) were honored in their final season by the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches on the 2019 All-UAA Men’s Tennis Team. Both were named to the first team for their doubles play during the season.
Four Tartans Selected to NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

Carnegie Mellon University will have four tennis players continue their season after being selected to compete in the 2019 NCAA Division III Singles and Doubles Tennis Championships at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan, from May 24-26. Representing the women’s program will be sophomore Melissa Strome (West Bloomfield, Mich. / West Bloomfield) and freshman Danna Taylor (Orlando, Fla. / Circle Christian School), while seniors Chaz Downing (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar) and Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill. / Boca Prep International School) will represent the men’s program.
#14 Tartans Finish UAA Championship Play Against #12 Spartans

The 14th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team played 12th-ranked Case Western Reserve University in the fifth-place match of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Sunday morning in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans dropped a 5-2 decision to the Spartans in the final dual match of the season for the Cardinal and Gray.

The 14th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team played 36th-ranked NYU in the consolation semifinals of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans defeated the Violets 5-0 and are now 9-8 on the season.

The 14th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Friday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and fell by the score of 5-1 to seventh ranked WashU. The Tartans record is now even at 8-8.
#15 Tartans Top #24 Denison on the Road

The 15th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team traveled 24th-ranked Denison University on Sunday and left with a 6-3 win over the Big Red. The Tartans concluded the regular season with an 8-7 mark while the Big Red are now 10-6.

The 15th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team traveled to Gambier, Ohio on Saturday afternoon and dropped a 5-4 match at 11th-ranked Kenyon College. The Tartans record is now 7-7 while the Lords move to 15-3.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked 15th nationally hosted the 16th-ranked Eagles of University of Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon. The Tartans came back from a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Eagles 5-4. The Tartans are now 7-6 while the Eagles move to 15-4.

The 15th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team hosted Division I Duquesne University for a midweek match on Tuesday, April 2. The Tartans defeated the Dukes, 4-2, with the match played by Division I rules and to decision. The Tartans are now 6-6 for the season.
