The Carnegie Mellon University women’s basketball team had three players named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Basketball Team by the league’s coaches when the Association announced its postseason awards Wednesday, March 4. Sophomore Lisa Murphy (McLean, Va./McLean) headlines with her second first-team award while juniors Liza Otto (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) and Lindsay Poss (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) were honored with honorable mention nods.

The Spartans pulled out an 82-66 win as sophomore Lisa Murphy (McLean, Va./McLean) finished the year averaging 20.2 points and 10.2 rebounds to become just the second Tartan to average a double-double for a season.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team suffered a last second defeat at the hands of the University of Rochester on Friday, February 20 in Skibo Gymnasium. The Yellowjackets hit a shot with two second left to steal the 63-62 win and move to 14-9 on the year and 6-6 in the University Athletic Association. The Tartans are now 11-12 and 2-10.

Murphy is one of five players on the District 4 team. To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must be a starter or significant reserve and maintain a GPA of 3.3 or better.
