Women’s Track and Field Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2023 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the list for the 27th consecutive year.
Barre, Giordani Named Academic All-Americans

Two Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field athletes have been selected to the 2023 Academic All-America® women’s cross country and track and field team as selected by the College Sports Communicators for NCAA Division III. Seniors Liz Barre and Samantha Giordani each earned their first selection with Barre named to the second team and Giordani to the third team.
Tartans Place 15 on Golf and Cross Country and Track and Field Academic All-District Teams

Fifteen Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were named to a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III, nominated by members of CSC, for the golf and cross country and track and field seasons. College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) rebranded to CSC in the summer of 2022.
Barre Withdraws from Competition at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Senior Liz Barre of the Carnegie Mellon University women's outdoor track and field team withdrew from competition at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday due to injury. The championships are being held at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, New York. Barre started to compete Friday morning in the heptathlon and was set to also compete in the long jump Thursday afternoon and 100-meter hurdles on Friday.
Carnegie Mellon Outdoor Track and Field Garners 28 USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Honors

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field teams had 28 Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors awarded to its athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2023 outdoor track and field season. Eighteen represent the men while 10 represent the women with four men receiving multiple honors and two women.

Senior Junior Liz Barre of the Carnegie Mellon University women's outdoor track and field team has received an invite to compete at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 25-27 27 at Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, New York.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at the All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday and Thursday hosted by Susquehanna University. The Tartans placed seventh in a field of 47 teams that scored points.

Barre Named UAA Outdoor Women’s Most Outstanding Performer in Field Events

Senior Liz Barre of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team was honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) when the 2023 UAA Outdoor Track and Field awards were announced Monday. Barre was named Most Outstanding Performer in the field events becoming the first Tartan female to receive the honor for field events as well as the first to win two titles in field events, three overall, at the outdoor championships.

Tartans Place Fourth at UAA Outdoor Championships, Barre Wins High Jump and 100-Meter Hurdles Titles

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team placed fourth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Championships. The two-day championship meet was hosted by the University of Chicago. The Tartans finished the championships with 89 points while Washington University in St. Louis scored 253.5 points to take first. The fourth-place finish ties the 1995, 1998 and 2018 teams for the best finish in school history.

The two-day championship meet is being hosted by the University of Chicago. The Tartans have 35 points and are currently third heading into the final day.
