  • Foose and Yew Named AVCA Third Team All-America; So-Holloway Garners Honorable Mention Recognition

    Senior middle blocker Erika Foose (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and senior libero Kayla Yew (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral) of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team were named Third Team All-America by the American Vol-leyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Joining the pair is senior setter Maia So-Holloway (Oak-land, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral) as an All-America Honorable Mention honorees from the AVCA.
  • Tartans Close Season at NCAA Regional Quarterfinal

    The 22nd-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team opened the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship at Johns Hopkins University against the Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology Friday. The Tartans fell 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-11) to the Ducks.
  • Four Tartans Receive AVCA All-Region Recognition

    Senior libero Kayla Yew (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral), senior middle blocker Erika Foose (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and senior setter Maia So-Holloway (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral) of the 22nd-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team were selected to the Mid-Atlantic Region team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Thursday. Sophomore opposite Vivian Beaudoin (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) joins the three seniors on the squad as an honorable mention honoree.
  • Tartans Land Four on All-UAA Volleyball Squad

    Four Carnegie Mellon University volleyball players were named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) team when the squads were announced Wednesday. Senior libero Kayla Yew (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral) was named to the first team while senior middle blocker Erika Foose (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and sophomore opposite Vivian Beaudoin (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) were named to the second team. Senior middle blocker Sahara Aqui (Miramar, Fla./Archbishop McCarthy) garnered honorable mention honors. This marks the fourth straight year that at least four Tartans were named to the All-UAA squad.
  • Tartans Making Fourth Consecutive Trip to the NCAA Championship Tournament

    For the fourth straight season, the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team received an at-large bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship on Monday afternoon under the direction of first-year head coach Anne Bock. This marks the program's seventh overall appearance with the team advancing to the regional final a year ago.

The 2019 Championship was held at the University of Chicago.

    The 19th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team closed its home schedule with two wins Saturday. The Tartans, now 21-5, first topped SUNY Geneseo 3-2, before defeating Ohio Wesleyan University 3-1.
  • Tartans Win Twice at Home

    Carnegie Mellon University's volleyball team hosted Hiram College and Southwestern (TX) University on Friday night on the hardwood of Skibo Gymnasium. The Tartans opened the day with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-12) decision over Hiram before topping Southwestern 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 26-24) in the nightcap. Carnegie Mellon now has an overall record of 19-5.

    The 18th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team traveled north for a dual match against Westminster College on Saturday. After dropping the first two sets, the Tartans rattled off three straight set win to leave with a 3-2 (22-25, 25-27, 19-25, 21-25, 15-9) decision and improve to 17-5 overall.

    The 15th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team continued University Athletic Association (UAA) action at Case Western Reserve University with two matches on Sunday in the final Round Robin of the season and split a pair of matches. The Tartans started play Sunday with a 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-17, 26-24) win over New York University, before dropping a 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-15) contest to Washington University in St. Louis. The Tartans are now 16-5 overall and 4-3 in UAA play.

The Tartans defeated the Case Western Reserve University, 3-2, before dropping a 3-1 contest to 3rd-ranked University of Chicago. The Tartans are now 15-4 overall and 3-2 in UAA play.

    The 12th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team split action on the road Saturday, September 28 to move to 14-3 for the year. The first match was a 3-1 loss to host Otterbein University while the Tartans defeated the University of Mount Union, 3-0.

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team, ranked 12th nationally, completed play on Sunday afternoon at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #1 hosted by Brandeis University. The Tartans dropped a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-22) contest to second ranked Emory University and are now 13-2 overall and 2-1 in UAA play while Emory moves to 11-1, 3-0.

    The 10th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team finished play in the Carnegie Mellon DoubleTree Invitational on Saturday, September 14 with a morning 3-1 victory against 13th-ranked Hope College and an evening 3-1 win against previously undefeated Muskingum University. The Tartans are now 10-1 on the season.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team, ranked 10th nationally, opened the Carnegie Mellon DoubleTree Invitational on Friday with a split of two matches. The Tartans started the night with a 3-0 (28-26, 25-23, 25-14) setback against Susquehanna University before topping Washington and Jefferson College, 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-16). The Tartans are now 8-1 on the season.

    Senior Erika Foose (Allentown, Pa. / Parkland) of the Carne-gie Mellon University volleyball team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week following her performance last week. Foose helped the undefeated Tartans to a 4-0 mark including wins over 15th-ranked Ithaca College and third-ranked Juniata College on her way to being named the Most Valuable Player at the ASICS Invitational hosted by Juniata.

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team improved to 7-0 after two wins against ranked opponents at the Juniata College ASICS Invitational on Saturday, September 7. The Tartans opened the day with a 3-1 win against 15th-ranked Ithaca College before defeating third-ranked Juniata, 3-1.

    The Carnegie Mellon University's volleyball team opened its season with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-16) win over Denison University Friday night. The teams squared off in the first of three matches for the Tartans at the 2019 Spartans Invitational hosted by Case Western Reserve University. The victory marked the first career win for first-year Tartan Head Coach Anne Bock.
  • Carnegie Mellon Volleyball Hires Natalie Cohen as Full-Time Assistant

    Carnegie Mellon University volleyball head coach Anne Bock has announced Natalie Cohen as her full-time assistant coach. Cohen joins the Tartan staff after serving as the head men’s and women’s volleyball coach at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts.
