Softball to Host Prospect Camp in October

The Carnegie Mellon University softball program will be hosting a prospect camp on Sunday, October 6. The Tartans finished their inaugural season in 2019 with two players receiving All-University Athletic Association (UAA) honors and a 13-25 record.
Two Earn NFCA All-America Scholar Honors

Two Carnegie Mellon University softball athletes were honored for their 2018-19 academic success by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Senior Rae Lasko (Diamond Bar, Calif. / Diamond Bar) and freshman Kyra Musmanno (West Windsor, N.J. / West Windsor-Plainsboro) were named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes for finishing the year with a 3.5 GPA or better.
Hu, McGee Honored on All-UAA Softball Team

Two Carnegie Mellon University softball freshmen earned the first-ever All-University Athletic Association (UAA) awards in program history when the UAA announced the 2019 All-Association Softball Team today. Shortstop Megan Hu (Katy, Texas/Seven Lakes) and pitcher Scotty McGee (Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach) each earned a place on the second team after leading the Tartans to a 13-25 record in the inaugural season for the university.
Tartans Split Series with NYU to Close Inaugural Season

The Carnegie Mellon University softball team closed its inaugural season with a series split after a doubleheader split with New York University on Sunday, April 28. The Tartans earned a 13-25 overall record and 5-15 mark in the University Athletic Association (UAA) following a 6-1 game-one victory and 10-8 game-two loss.

The Carnegie Mellon University softball team played a doubleheader against New York University on Saturday, April 27 at Fordham University as part of the season-closing University Athletic Association (UAA) series for both teams. The Violets took game one by a 5-2 score before the Tartans scored four runs in the seventh inning of game two to win 7-5. The Tartans are now 12-24 overall and 4-14 in the UAA while the Violets are 19-12 and 7-8.
Tartans Hammer 29 Hits in Doubleheader Split at Washington and Jefferson

The Carnegie Mellon University softball team recorded a season-high number of hits in a doubleheader split at Washington and Jefferson College on Tuesday, April 23. The Tartans won game one 17-7 behind a season-high 23 hits before dropping the second game 3-2 to move to 11-23 for the year.
Tartans Drop a Pair to End Series with #20 Brandeis

The Carnegie Mellon University softball team dropped the last two games of the four-game series with 20th-ranked Brandeis University on Sunday, April 21 by scores of 5-1 and 6-2 at Seneca Valley High School in Harmony, Pennsylvania. The Tartans are now 10-22 for the season and 3-13 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) while the Judges move to 25-2-1 and 10-2.

The Tartans are now 10-20 overall and 3-11 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) while the Judges are 22-2-1 and 8-2.

With the second game being postponed until Sunday, April 21, the Tartans are now 10-19 overall and 3-10 in the University Athletic Association (UAA), while the Judges move to 21-2-1 and 7-2.

The Bears were able to come-from-behind in both games to steal two road wins by 5-3 and 7-3 scores.

The Carnegie Mellon University softball team swept two games at Saint Vincent College on Wednesday, April 10 to advance to 8-14 for the season. Freshman pitcher Gwen Delacruz (Laguna Nigel, Calif. / Aliso Niguel) earned a 3-1 victory in game one while freshman pitcher Scotty McGee (Huntington Beach, Calif. / Huntington Beach) was the winning pitcher in game two by a 6-4 score after nine innings.

Freshman pitcher Scotty McGee (Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach) pitched a complete game and was perfect at the plate to lead the Carnegie Mellon University softball team to its first University Athletic Association (UAA) victory. The win came by a 7-1 score at Case Western Reserve University in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday, April 7. The Spartans held on for a 5-4 win in game one and are now 15-7 and 4-2 for the year while the Tartans are 6-14 and 1-7.

The Carnegie Mellon University softball team continued University Athletic Association (UAA) action on Friday, April 5 with a doubleheader at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. The Spartans won both games, moving to 13-6 and 2-1 for the season, while the Tartans dropped to 5-13 and 0-6.
