Three Carnegie Mellon University women’s tennis players opened competition at the ITA Cup at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia, on Thursday, October 13 after earning spots in the national tournament by their winning performances at the ITA Southeast Regional.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s tennis team traveled to Fredericksburg, Virginia, to play in the ITA Southeast Regional Tournament hosted by the University of Mary Washington. After the first two days of play, the Tartans have one doubles team and two singles players advancing to the semifinals to be played on Sunday.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s tennis team played at home for the first time this season, hosting Division II Saint Francis University for an invitational while competing against Washington & Jefferson College and Seton Hill University in dual matches over a two-day span. The Tartans topped both W&J and Seton Hill to start the year with a 2-0 record.
