Tartans Split Midweek Action at Geneva

The Carnegie Mellon University softball team played a doubleheader at Geneva College on Wednesday, April 24, splitting action after winning game one by a 6-4 score and falling in game two, 12-9. The Tartans are now 15-15 overall while Geneva moved to 22-14.
Tartans Finish Four-Game Series with WashU

The Carnegie Mellon University softball team finished the last two games of its four-game series with Washington University in St. Louis on Sunday, April 21 at Shady Side Academy Senior School. WashU won the first game, 9-6, and the second game, 8-1. This puts the Tartans at 14-14 overall for the season and 8-8 in the University Athletic Association (UAA). The Bears are now 23-9 and 12-4.
Tartans Split Action with League Leading WashU

The Carnegie Mellon University softball team began their four-game series with Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday, April 20 at Shady Side Academy Senior School. The Tartans played two games, winning the first by a score of 5-4 in eight innings. They dropped the second game by a 9-5 score to move to 14-12 overall and 8-6 in the University Athletic Association (UAA). The Bears are now 21-9 and 10-4.
Friday Softball Game Moved to Sunday

Due to rain in the area all week with expected rain on Friday, the Carnegie Mellon University softball game against Washington University in St. Louis scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19 at Grove City College has been moved to Sunday, April 21 at 12:00 p.m. at Shady Side Academy. There will now be a doubleheader on Sunday with the first game scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.

The Carnegie Mellon University’s softball team played a second doubleheader against New York University on Staten Island, New York, on Sunday, April 14. The Tartan topped the Violets, 9-3, in the first game with NYU winning the second, 5-2. The Tartans are now 13-11 overall and 7-5 in the UAA while the Violets are 6-20 and 1-11.
Smith's No-Hitter Highlights Sweep at NYU

The Carnegie Mellon University’s softball team traveled to New York, New York, to play New York University on Staten Island for its third University Athletic Association (UAA) series of the season. The Tartan topped the Violets, 3-0, in game one on Saturday, April 13 and finished game two with a 17-7 victory in five innings. The Tartans are now 12-10 overall and 6-4 in the UAA while the Violets fall to 5-19 and 0-10.

The Tartans delivered a crushing defeat to the Judges, winning 8-6 in game one and 13-7 in game two. The Tartans are now 10-10 and 4-4 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) while the judges are 8-11 and 4-4.

The Tartans, playing in pink jerseys to bring awareness to breast cancer and early screening, dropped a 4-0 decision in game one and an 8-2 decision in game two. The Tarans are now 8-10 and 2-4 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) while the Judges are 8-9 and 4-2.

The Eagles rallied in game one for a 9-8 win and did the same in game two with an 18-10 six-inning win. The Tartans are now 7-8 overall while the Eagles hold a 16-7 record.

UAA Women's History Month: Black Female Softball Coaches Meet in UAA Softball for First Time

Friday’s UAA series opener between Carnegie Mellon University and Emory University will mark the first time in UAA history when two Black female head softball coaches will face one another. Monica Harrison has been the only coach in Tartans’ history, while India Chiles in is her first season at the helm of the Eagles.
