Tartans Rack Up USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the women's 2013 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the list. A total of 148 institutions earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 or better.

Carnegie Mellon University junior Jacqueline Guevel (Dallas, Texas/The Hockaday School), a member of the women’s track and field team, has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for women's cross country and track and field for the 2012-13 season. CoSIDA recognizes outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments by honoring deserving athletes with All-Academic recognition with the official sponsor of Capital One.

The junior will compete in two events, the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's indoor track and field team competed at the first day of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Championships on Saturday, February 23 held on the campus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. For the second straight season, junior Samantha Oleson (Hopkinton, Mass.) earned All-UAA honors in the weight throw leading the Tartans to fourth-place after the first day.
